Conditions of Use
This page provides special notes on the processing of personal data on our Internet site. General notes on the overall processing of personal data in our enterprise can be found here.
Who is the provider of these pages?
Personal data collected during the use of these Internet pages are recorded, processed and used by Dr. Loges + Co. GmbH. In what follows, we abbreviate the name of this company to Dr. Loges. Dr. Loges is the responsible office in the sense of the German Data Protection Act and, at the same time, the provider in the sense of the Telemedia Act. Our address and further details concerning Dr. Loges can be found on the impressum page. Some of our Web pages contain links to pages offered by other providers. We are not responsible for the content of pages linked to in this way, not even for safeguarding data protection during visits to these sites. Links to other providers can always be recognised as such. If you are in doubt: all Dr. Loges pages contain a link to our impressum page.
What kind of personal data do we store?
In principle, you can visit our Web pages without disclosing your identity. However, we require a few personal details from you for some of our offers. That applies, for example, to sending information material, to participation in prize competitions or to answering individual inquiries. In all these cases, we only store the data which you enter yourself. We store the IP address assigned to your computer during your visit to our Web pages, insofar as this is necessary to send the pages called up to your computer. We process information on the pages you call up from our Website in order to compile usage statistics; please refer to 6a.
Purpose of processing personal data
In principle, we use your personal data only for the purpose stated at the time that the data is recorded: Examples of this are to transmit information requested by you, to process orders or to run prize competitions. We do not use your personal data for the purpose of advertising, for market research or for opinion polls unless we make an express reference to this and you have expressly consented to the use of your data for the said purpose. We use data concerning your visits to our Web pages and your call ups of our e-Mail newsletter in the form of anonymous statistics, thus without any personal reference.
Transmission of personal data
We do not forward your personal data to third parties as a matter of principle. When you call up our Web pages, however, your current IP address in abbreviated form and data concerning your use of our site are transmitted to Google in order to generate usage statistics. More details in this context can be found under 6a.
External service providers who process personal data on our behalf in the sense of the German Data Protection Act are contractually obliged to comply with all pertinent data protection regulations. European contractors are not regarded as third parties under data protection laws.
How do we process the data of registered users?
a) Information for specific disciplines
Due to legal requirements, some sections of our Website are only available to users from certain, specific disciplines, such as pharmacists, doctors and their staff. Before you can open such pages, you must register as a user with DocCheck Medical Services GmbH (www.doccheck.de). If you use a user ID registered with DocCheck, we send an authentication request to DocCheck each time a protected section is called up. This is checked there, without us receiving any details of your identity.
b) Image database
Our digital image database is an exclusive service for our business associates from the fields of pharmacy, press, advertising, trade and medicine. If you belong to one of these professions and still do not have access to our image database, you can request your access data (user ID and password) by completing the application form available on our Website. We use the data collected there solely to verify your right of access. We analyse how often the images in the database are called up in order to provide the most need-based selection of images possible. As a user, you remain anonymous during all of these evaluations. The same applies if you have logged into the specialist area, where the image database is likewise available to you without any further access verification.
a) Use of our Website
We analyse how visitors use our Web pages in order to design our Internet presence in the best possible way.
For this purpose we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service operated by Google Inc., USA. When you call up one of our Web pages, a program (Java-Script) is uploaded to your computer from a Google server and executed. A cookie is then saved on your computer, which contains information on your use of our Web pages. This includes the name of the Web page called up, the time and date of the call up and a unique identification code generated for your browser. This information is transmitted to Google and stored in computer systems, some of which are located outside Europe, namely in the USA. Technical details of your computer are also transmitted, such as the type of browser, the operating system and the resolution of the screen display.
Google processes this information on our behalf to evaluate how you use our Internet presence, to compile statistics for us concerning the usage behaviour of all visitors, including a rough determination of their location, and to provide further services for us associated with the use of the Website and the Internet. You remain anonymous throughout this evaluation of usage behaviour.
The Google tracking codes deployed on this Website use the "anonymizeIp()" function. This means that IP addresses are only processed in abbreviated form and therefore exclude a direct reference to a particular person. Your full IP address is only used to transmit the program routines and data in your Web browser required to analyse usage; it is neither stored nor combined with other data from Google. When evaluating usage behaviour, your IP address is included at most in abbreviated form. It is not possible to allocate usage data to your person from the abbreviated IP address. The same applies insofar as Google itself exploits your usage data.
In addition, this site uses Google Analytics reports concerning demographic characteristics, which use data from interest-related advertising from Google and visitor data from third party suppliers (e.g. age, gender and interests). These data cannot be traced back to a certain person and can be deactivated in the Display settings at any time.
If you wish to completely exclude your visits to our Web pages from our usage analyses, you can download an add-on for your browser from this Google page; all common browsers are supported. The program routine (Java Script) required to record your usage data is then not executed and analysis cookies are not stored by your browser. – If you declare a general blockage on the storage of cookies by means of an appropriate setting in your browser, this likewise switches off the analysis of your usage behaviour by Google Analytics.
b) Use of our newsletter
Likewise with the aim of achieving an optimum design, we keep statistics concerning the use of our e-Mail newsletter. For example, we count how many subscribers open a dispatched newsletter and how many of them click on the links to certain Web pages offered in the newsletter. We mark the links in each edition of the newsletter for these counts and allocate a different identifier to each subscriber, although we do not store any kind of association between these identifiers and e-Mail addresses or other data which identify subscribers. The statistics concerning use of our newsletter do not contain any references to persons and we do not use them to address certain groups of subscribers in any particular way. – We analyse usage as described only insofar as subscribers order the newsletter in HTML format. We send newsletters in pure text format without undertaking any further analysis.
Cookies are tiny files which are saved on your computer when you call up our Web pages. If you call up other pages on our Website at a later date, the content of these cookies is transmitted to us.
Dr. Loges does not combine the data saved in cookies with other data in any way which would enable us to make a reference to your person.
You can change the settings in your Web browser to prevent HTTP cookies from being saved. You will then still be able to use our Website. You are able to delete stored cookies at once. Details of this procedure can be found in your browser's help file.
What can you do to restrict the processing of your data?
You can revoke permission you have given for the processing of your personal data at any time. You can cancel your subscription to the Dr. Loges newsletter at any time by following the link contained in every edition. You can also generally prevent your data being used for advertising purposes. To do so, simply send a message to our contact address stated below. If you want to stop your call up of pages being included in our analyses of usage, please read the notes under 6a.
Your personal data are stored in a secure operating environment at Dr. Loges and are available there only to the authorised offices. Data which you disclose to us in an online application are transmitted in encrypted form; otherwise the data transmitted between your computer and our Internet server are generally unencrypted.
Information and corrections
On request, we will provide you with information at any time on whether we have stored data about your person and, if so, the nature of these. We will naturally correct any false data. If you would like information or corrections to be made, please contact our data protection office. The address can be found under the "Contact" header.
Revision of this declaration of data protection
It may become necessary for us to revise our security and data protection arrangements (e.g. due to technical developments). In such cases, we will also revise this declaration of data protection. The current version of the declaration applies.
If you wish to revoke permission you have given for the use of your personal data or if you wish to generally stop your data being used for purposes of advertising or market research, please send an e-Mail or a letter to the following address:
